I came home to a box on my doorstep this afternoon and what did I see looking back at me?
My first glance at the Movie Masters Man of Steel Superman figure… 2 of them!!!

These guys looked great. The likeness was dead on in the face, the packaging was bright and VERY red. I was pretty excited. Watch the full review video below.

Shortly after opening the first one I went straight to the shop to give him an additional paint overhaul. I used a black wash to give some depth to the chainmail and silver ribbing and added a wired fabric cape. I also added a little articulation to the hips to give him more arch for flying poses as well as added articulation to the neck to improve the range of motion. These guys look awesome. I can't wait until the rest of the set hits retail in May!!

Wow! Where'd you get it? I can't wait til May...
ReplyDeleteOn eBay. The sellers listings were quickly removed. I got lucky. Have you not gotten one in hand yet? I thought I posted a link to your review.
DeleteThe figure wasn't mine, a friend of mine just lent it to me. He told me that Warner is being strict with the release of the figure. Most stores already have it in their warehouse. Warner wants it to be released in May. So they are waiting a go signal from Warner. Lucky you your orders went through :)
ReplyDeleteHi do you notice that Henry Cavill's face seems to have a slight facial hair? I finally bought my own figure and I managed to purchase the beardless one. I don't know if there is a variant or these are quality control problems. Hopefully someone can shed light on this. Here's my Man of Steel figure

I wouldn't be surprised if we'll see all kinds of different paint apps on these. I think the 5 o'clock shadow was intentional but only sered as truly shading. You may notice if you bought more than 1 DKR Batman figures there were so many slight paint app variations it was too many to keep up with. Mostly in their use of gray and gloss black. I always prefer a matte black Batman to anything else.
